About Me

I’m Raquel McNulty—a designer, researcher, and community-rooted creative currently in my final year of the Bachelor of Interior Design program at Algonquin College.

My work lives at the intersection of design, care, and culture. I’m drawn to projects that ask, How can we show up for people through space? Whether that’s through trauma-informed environments, culturally responsive design, or public spaces that invite connection, I’m most interested in how design can support people’s dignity and well-being.

This portfolio brings together some of the projects I've been part of so far. It’s also a space where I’m continuing to figure things out—what design means to me, where I can be most useful, and how to keep growing in ways that stay grounded in care and connection.

Thanks for stopping by.

Personal Design Philosophy

My design philosophy focuses on crafting environments that are inviting and supportive, promoting a sense of community and connection for everyone who experiences them. I believe in the transformative ability of design to provide emotional support, stability, and healing, especially for those in vulnerable stages of life. By integrating natural elements, cultural traditions, and public art, I aim to root spaces in a feeling of belonging and pride. Ultimately, I aim to design environments that feel like home, supporting growth, resilience, and well-being.
